Troubleshooting

  1. Uninstall WinRAR
    1. Click on search menu on your computer (click the magnifine glass on the task bar a the bottom).
    2. Search for and open "Add or remove programs"
    3. Scroll down and select "WinRAR"
    4. Click Uninstall
  2. Coding (NeoPixels flashing red)
    1. Open the Serial window to view the error messages.
    2. Fix the bugs in your code
    3. Press CTL-C to stop running the code.
    4. Press CTL-D to make it auto-run again
  3. Bluefruit (NeoPixels all turn white)
    1. Press the reset button once and wait for the device to restart.
    2. If step A doesn't resolve the issue, repeat steps 1-3 and 5-7 from the "Set up your Bluefruit board" tab in Initial Steps section of the instructions.
  4. Display
    1. Make sure all the standoffs on the display are flush with the pads on the circuit board. See step 4 from the "Assembly" tab in Initial Steps section of the instructions.
    2. If the display does not turn on, ensure all screws are tight.
    3. If a screw does not tighten and spins freely, get a longer screw from your instructor.
  5. Servo
    1. Make sure your jumper wires connecting the header to the bread board connect the right header pins to the corresponding servo pins. See step 4 from the "Initial Setup" tab in Robots section of the instructions.
    2. Make sure all your header pins are soldered correctly. See step 2 from the "Assembly" tab in Initial Steps section of the instructions.
  6. All else fails
    1. Click here to download the file you will need.
    2. Double-click the reset button on the board to bring up the CPLAYBOOT drive.
    3. Drag the CP_Bluefruit_QSPI_Erase file you just downloaded onto the CPLAYBOOT drive.
    4. The status LED will turn yellow or blue, indicating the erase has started.
    5. After approximately 15 seconds, the status LED will light up green.
    6. repeat steps 1-3 and 5-7 from the "Set up your Bluefruit board" tab in Initial Steps section of the instructions.
